BBQ WRAPS
These wraps are great as a snack or a meal!
This is yet again another student-friendly meal, as it is exam season this will be perfect for all students.
Whenever I make these I pair it with homemade chips (Recipe available on my youtube channel and this blog). Or I simply eat it alone!
Ingredients
- 2-5 chicken thighs (depending on the desired amount)
- Tortilla wraps
- Finely chopped lettuce
- Mayo
- BBQ sauce
- Sunflower oil
- Cayenne pepper
- Chinese 5 spice
- All purpose seasoning
- Curry powder
- Chicken seasoning
- Garlic powder
Method
- As chicken is being handled in this recipe make sure you wash your hands prior or wear gloves!
- Also, before cooking switch the oven on to 200oc so that the oven will be warm by the time that it is needed.
- Drizzle a small amount of sunflower oil, enough to coat the chicken. This will make it easier to season the chicken
- Then with all of the seasoning, season the chicken. You may find it easier to do 2-3 at a time.
- Once the chicken has been seasoned wrap the chicken and leave it to marinate for 1 hour (I do advise leaving it for as long as possible as the outcome will be better!)
- Once an hour has passed, place the chicken on a foil-lined oven tray and put the chicken in the oven.
- Once the chicken is in the oven for 15- 20 minutes turn the chicken so that the other side can cook.
- Place it back in the oven for another 15 minutes.
- After this, check the chicken every 10 minutes to ensure that it doesn’t overheat.
- If you’re not sure if the chicken is cooked poke a hole near bone and if it is still red keep it in.
- Now that the chicken is done, it is time to cut up the chicken – you should aim to make the chicken look shredded. Please be cautious as the chicken will be hot.
- Next, you have to assemble the wrap, spread an even layer of mayo on the wrap.
- Then, add the lettuce and then some chicken, once this is done drizzle the bbq sauce on top.
- You can add in anything else that you like e.g. tomatoes, finely chopped onions etc
- The easier way to wrap the wrap is to fold in the sides, bring the bottom up and continue to roll.
- Repeat this process for all the wraps.
- Then enjoy your wraps!
